New York City-based Marvel Entertainment has promoted EVP home entertainment and TV production for Marvel Studios Eric Rollman to president of Marvel Animation.
In his new role, Rollman will oversee the company’s animation slate, as well as partnerships with key broadcasters and home entertainment studios.
Rollman joined Marvel in 2004 to support the company’s agreement with Lionsgate to develop, produce and distribute made-for-DVD animated features based on popular characters from the Marvel Universe. He’ll report directly to Simon Philips, president of Marvel International.
On the television front, Rollman has been instrumental in bringing Marvel’s stable of characters back to television. He is currently overseeing the Iron Man: Armored Adventures and Wolverine and the X-Men animated series, which will both premiere in early 2009 on Nicktoons.
Prior to joining Marvel, Rollman spent 15 years as a key executive at Saban Entertainment/Fox Family Worldwide leaving as President of Fox Family Productions when ABC/Disney bought the company in 2001.
