• This past weekend The Simpsons Ride – the first theme-park ride based on the long-running animated series -opened it’s bug-eyed doors at Universal Studios Hollywood. The larger-than-life attraction, featuring a 32-foot-tall Krusty the Clown at its entrance, was officially opened by Simpson’s creators Matt Groening, James L. Brooks and Homer J. Simpson himself, Dan Castellaneta, at Universal Studios Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood.
• The Disney-ABC Television Group‘s Stage 9 Digital Media and Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television have formed an exclusive partnership to give students an opportunity to develop original short-form content. In the Stage 9-sponsored workshop, participants from the school’s 2008 graduate class will pitch and develop original short-form projects, working with the studio’s creative and production executives on the scripts, budgets and schedules. In June, projects selected by the studio and university will be put into pilot production.
