In a global first, Disney Channel is launching on digital terrestrial TV in Spain on Tuesday, July 1.

Disney Channel debuted on the country’s cable system in 1998 and have moved to DTT as an ad-supported channel. It is expected to be a key driver of the adoption of Spain’s DTT platform, which will replace analogue terrestrial television and become standard in 2010, reaching all Spanish homes.

All Spanish viewers with the DTT platform and existing pay subscriptions will be able to access Disney Channel’s hit programming, including Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, and Camp Rock.
