National Geographic and website kidthing are partnering to bring learning games and read-along stories to kidthing’s free downloadable digital media player.

Through the kidthing site, parents can navigate through digital versions of books, games, creativity products, digital videos and purchase them. Prices start at.99 cents and there are no ads or subscription fees associated with the site

National Geographic is developing content about animals, space, geography and other educational subjects specifically for the kidthing agreement and the new branded area will be open to the public in the fall.

Since launching a beta version in March, kidthing has attracted approximately 40,000 unique customers.
