The Lego Minifigure celebrates its 30th birthday today. On this date in 1978, the first minifigures were packed into LEGO sets. To celebrate the milestone the toy company has launched the Go Miniman G! promotion.

The promotion will be housed at www.gominimango.com and feature online video, contests, downloads, news and games to further the mini men footprint.

The site will be also be filled with fun facts. For example, minifigures represent the world’s largest population, more than four billion people, making it three times larger than China, 12 times larger than the United States and 120 times larger than Canada. And did you know, 3.9 minifigures are sold every second, 365 days a year.
