Forget tossing empty bottles in the recycling bin. Xymbiot, a Utah-based packaging company, has come up with a new bottle that doubles as a throw toy once it’s been emptied. Sure, kids have been throwing empty bottles back and forth to each other for ages, but never has a container been manufactured specifically with that secondary play pattern in mind.
The company explains that the interactive, patent-pending plastic bottle is aerodynamically designed to fly up to 100 feet when empty. It’s not clear if the bottle should be hurled like a football or tossed like a lawn dart, but the badminton birdie-like design suggests top-heavy engineering to give it the weight to travel through the air spout first. Xymbiot is currently looking for a beverage partner and has several versions of the flying bottle concept ready to go. Any takers?
