Splash Entertainment’s free VOD kids network Kabillion has joined forces with Base79, the largest YouTube partner outside North America, to increase the global viewership for its popular Kabillion YouTube channel and launch new original programming.

Using its proprietary technology and expertise as a top international multi-channel network that was one of the leading partners in YouTube’s original programming initiative, Base79 will manage Kabillion’s property rights on YouTube and will utilize its international sales team to help Kabillion monetize its online video content through new ad sales locally and globally.

Part of the deal will see Kabillion look for potential collaborations with creators from Base79’s network on exclusive new original content encompassing live-action shows featuring kid-friendly hosts and funny characters, as well as comedic interstitials culled from Kabillion’s large library of animated titles.

Base79 currently generates more than 750 million views per month across 1,500 YouTube channels and holds partnerships with more than 850 premium content creators including The Jim Henson Company and NBC Universal.

Since launching in 2007, Kabillion reaches more than 45 million homes in the US via outlets including Comcast and Time Warner. It also ranks among the top 10 free VOD TV networks for kids in the US and features hit animated shows such as Chloe’s ClosetsHero 108, and Sabrina, Secrets of a Teenage Witch.

Kabillion’s latest deal comes on the heels of its new partnership with independent digital marketing company Fullbottle for advertising and sponsorship campaigns.
