Amazon adds to kids content with Wallace, Shaun

As competition in the kids SVOD space heats up, Amazon has inked a content licensing deal with Aardman Animations that will make  children’s series Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep available for streaming.

The shows will be offered on Amazon’s Prime Instant Video. Timmy Time and Rex the Runt will also be available to Amazon subscribers.

In addition, subscribers will have access to seasons three and four of Shaun the Sheep, as well as the Shaun the Sheep: Championsheeps special. Two new Timmy Time specials will also be available via Prime Instant Video.

Eariler this month, Amazon and HIT Entertainment announced an unprecedented partnership that brings the preschool series Fireman Sam to the service. The deal also included consumer products available on Amazon.com, through a Fireman Sam hub on the site.

Amazon has added a slew of kids content to its platforms in the past few months, as it looks to continuously compete with Netflix.
