With The Very Hungry Caterpillar celebrating its 45th birthday, Publications International and The World of Eric Carle have launched their new Eric Carle’s On the Farm app, which features animal sounds, rhymes and songs for the youngest of mobile users.

The app for iPhone and iPad is available now in the Apple App Store for a special introductory price of US$0.99. It will be regularly priced at US$2.99.

The app includes Eric Carle’s animal artwork in 14 scenes, 25 animal sounds and animations, narrated rhymes about farm animals, five sing-along farm songs, read to Me and Read by Myself modes, Lift-a-flaps, coloring screens, stickers, puzzles and mazes.

More than 125 million copies of Carle’s popular picture books have sold worldwide. The app is based on PIL’s Play-a-Sound Book, Eric Carle: Around the Farm.
