Adhering to its new upfront strategy, Cartoon Network US has taken its presentations once again directly to where clients and promotional partners are, and the network is now preparing itself to better reach kids where they are through an expanded portfolio of platform-specific original content that includes series, specials, shorts, interstitials, games and apps – including a mobile micro-network that delivers 15-second clips.

New original and acquired US programming for 2014/2015 includes:

Over The Garden Wall, which is headlined by a voice cast that includes Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings Trilogy), Collin Dean (The War at Home) and Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men), and marks Cartoon Network’s first event mini-series. The 10-part animated comedy/fantasy story follows two brothers, Wirt and Greg, who are trapped in a mysterious world. Over The Garden Wall is created by Pat McHale and produced by Cartoon Network Studios.

Premiering next month in the US, and later in the year in the UK, Clarence is the third new animated comedy from Cartoon Network Studios. The series is based on a regular kid who turns every day into an adventure. The show is created by Skyler Page, who at age 24 is the youngest creator to be given his own show.

We Bare Bears is a comedy about three bear siblings named Grizzly, Panda and Ice Bear. Each episode follows their awkward attempts at assimilating into human society, whether they’re looking for food, trying to make human friends, or scheming to become internet famous. Created by Daniel Chong (Toy Story of Terror!), We Bare Bears is produced by Cartoon Network Studios.

The Tom and Jerry Show will return in a new, fresh take on the classic series. Preserving the look, characters and sensibility of the original series, The Tom and Jerry Show is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and will premiere on April 9.

Also from Warner Bros. Animation is Be Cool Scooby-Doo!, a new 22-minute animated comedy series starring the world’s most famous animated mutt.

Meanwhile, Wabbit—A Looney Tunes Production, follows the heroic and mischievous Bugs Bunny. From Warner Bros., the all-new series consists of comedic shorts.

LEGO NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu will air in six new half-hour animated specials in 2014, followed by all-new episodes of the popular series slated for 2015.

The previously announced Sonic Boom, the  Sega franchise’s first-ever CG animated television series, will premiere on Cartoon Network with support from an extensive video game release of the same name. The Sonic Boom television series, coproduced by SEGA of America and OuiDO! Productions, will debut on Cartoon Network in the 2014/2015 season.

Total Drama: Pahkitew Island from Canada’s FreshTV will return in a new series, where Chris and Chef put the newest generation of contestants through the craziest challenges yet – all for a chance to win one million dollars.

Also hitting the network are animated series Numb Chucks from Canada’s 9 Story Entertainment and Beyraiderz from fellow canuck Nelvana.

Original programming designed for multiple digital platforms includes Angelo Rules season two from TeamTo and Cake Entertainment; Detentionaire from Daniel Bryan Franklin & Charles Johnston, and distributed by Nelvana Enterprises; andRocket Jo, produced by France’s Millimages and 2D3D.

And later this year will see the launch of a new digital initiative called Cartoon Network Anything, which will stream funny content to mobile phones and other small-screen mobile devices. Users will be able to access games, activities, trivia and clips, each lasting an average of 10 to 15 seconds. The pieces of content will be randomized, and fans can move to the next piece by simply swiping their screens. Uncle Grandpa is a new original animated comedy from Cartoon Network Studios and premieres Monday, April 14. The show centers on a ‘magical’ uncle and grandpa who travels the world in a mystical RV and is voiced by Pete Browngardt, who is best known for working on Futurama and Adventure Time.

In May, Steven Universe, a new original animated comedy from Cartoon Network Studios, will bow. The show is about the misadventures of a boy named Steven, the ultimate little brother to a team of magical guardians of humanity – the Crystal Gems. It is created by artist, composer and director Rebecca Sugar.

And finally, Warner Bros.’ Animation Studios’ Teen Titans Go! will premieres this April. The character driven comedy is inspired by the original Teen Titan series that ran for five seasons.

The broadcaster also announced it will air the brand new series of The Tom and Jerry Show on second flagship channel Boomerang from April 12. Also premiering on Boomerang in June is the special episode of ground breaking The Powerpuff Girls – Dance Pantsed – guest starring Beatles drummer Ringo Starr performing the original music video and song “I wish I was a Powerpuff Girl.”

The Amazing World of Gumball‘s third season also launches on Cartoon Network UK in September.
