With the two follow-ups to Luc Besson’s first Arthur movie set for release in December and 2010, respectively, 4Kids Entertainment has sewn up the L&M rights to Arthur and the Revenge of Maltazard and Arthur and the War of the Two Worlds in the Nordic region.

The live-action and computer-animated family adventure movies, targeting kids four to 10, come from Besson’s production and distribution studio EuropaCorp.

Under the agreement, 4Kids will develop and manage licensing efforts for the property in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Norway.

L&M potential is already high in France, where more than 25 licensees and promo partners have already signed on, including Lansay (toys), Ubisoft (video games), Cesar (dress-up), Tennessee (back-to-school), Panini (sticker albums), Sahinler (apparel) and Nestlé (cereals).
