Disney Benelux has picked up Platinum Film’s boy-skewing action series Matt Hatter Chronicles for a spring 2014 launch across The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Dutch-speaking Belgium.

The first two seasons of the animated series, produced in cooperation with Toronto, Canada-based Dream Mill, will premiere on Disney XD in the region and will be supported online with immersive digital content including Matt Hatter games and 3D Multivision clips.

A Matt Hatter Chronicles global consumer product roll-out is also scheduled for 2014, as Platinum has appointed License Connection to manage the L&M and promotional rights for the property and to spearhead a licensing program supported by promotional retail tie-ins and consumer marketing campaigns across the Benelux. License Connection already reps Peppa Pig, Cut the Rope, Masha and the Bear and Asterix.

This newest European signing is the latest for the series, which has already sold into more than 80 countries worldwide.

Last month, Platinum granted Simba Dickie Group the master toy license for Matt Hatter Chronicles across EMEA, CEE, Russia and India.
