Looking to inspire kids to do something for nature, the Beeb is launching a week’s worth of Green Balloon Club-themed activities this summer.

Based on CBeebies’ weekly wildlife show, the events taking place from July 25 to August 2 will use storytelling to encourage youngsters to do things like bake for birds, create a log pile or a bug hotel and plant seeds.

Over the last year, Green Balloon Club has introduced kids three to six and their families to a variety of environmental and wildlife-related issues. BBC Springwatch presenter Chris Packham will read the Bedtime Story each night for a week, while Nature Tales will air on CBeebies from July 20-24 at 6:50 p.m.

Nature Tales will also be available on CBeebies iPlayer for seven days after its broadcast. For more info on Green Balloon Club Week, check out bbc.co.uk/breathingplaces.
