New York-based JetBlue Airways has launched its third-annual Soar with Reading program with Random House Children’s Books and Magic Tree House author Mary Pope Osborne.
The new website www.jetblue.com/SoarwithReading offers downloadable Magic Tree House Soar with a Reading Passport Activity booklets, games, reading lists and more. The booklets will be distributed at JetBlue terminals across the US and throughout the Caribbean from June through August.
Since the program started in 2010, JetBlue has donated more than US$250,000 worth of books to children in need.
Random House Children’s Books and Osborne are new partners for the program this year. The website will feature a Magic Tree House-themed contest where participants will be entered to win one of four US$5,000 college scholarships or other prizes. For every submission, JetBlue will donate one book, up to US$500,000 worth of books to Mary Pope Osborne’s Classroom Adventures Program.
Additional reading events with Osborne will take place in JetBlue cities including Boston, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, and San Juan throughout the summer
