Corus Entertainment-owned Treehouse Canada has picked up the Lalaloopsy animated series based on the MGA Entertainment doll line of the same name.

Lalaloopsy, which made its US debut last month on Nickelodeon, will premiere on the Canadian preschool network on May 4. The season will consist of 52 x 22-minute episodes.

The animated series produced by MGA and Moonscoop incorporates child developmental themes such as diversity, friendship and teamwork with the original eight Lalaloopsy characters.

Studio Licensing, which represents MGA’s licensing and merchandising activity in Canada, helped broker the deal.
