In partnership with Sony Music Entertainment’s Columbia/Epic Label Group, Nickelodeon has ordered 20 eps of new live-action series Big Time Rush.

The scripted comedy series from Scott Fellows (creator of Ned’s DeClassified School Survival Guide) follows four best friends who are given the opportunity to join the L.A. music scene, and it’ll kick off on the kidnet with a one-hour preview on Saturday, November 28 at 8:30 p.m.

It’s Nick’s second TV collaboration with Columbia/Epic, joining Victorious, and is scheduled for a premiere in early 2010. Big Time Rush will feature original songs performed by the group, guided by Columbia/Epic and helped along by successful songwriters and producers including Desmond Child (Katy Perry, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith), Matthew Gerrard (Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne), Charlie Midnight (Hilary Duff, Britney Spears), Kevin Rudolph (Let It Rock) and Eman (David Archuletta).
