Looking to attract budding animators and fans of the DC Universe, Sony Online Entertainment has launched the Mass Animation Contest State-side.

Candidates will be given the opportunity to animate shots in a cinematic trailer or character gestures in the upcoming vidgame title DC Universe Online. Winning entries will receive cash and prizes in addition to being included in the video credits of the trailer or game credits, as well as the chance to work with the DC Universe Online dev team.

Approximately 60 submissions will be chosen as runners-up for the game trailer and each will each receive US$500 and a copy of DCUO. Around 40 runners-up of the in-game animation entries will win US$150 and the opportunity to become part of the game, as well as the chance to receive a copy of the game.

Those interested in simply voting are also eligible to win prizes, and a top weekly voter prize will be drawn from each week’s voter database for both the trailer and character animation.

Interested parties can register at http://www.facebook.com/DCUniverseOnline.
