Augmented reality is continuing to wend its way through the kids entertainment world, as L.A.-based AR company Total Immersion teams up with biggies Paramount and Fox to bring the tech to three home entertainment titles.
Paramount’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Star Trek, and Fox’s Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian all got the AR treatment to promote their theatrical release last year. For the home entertainment launch of each film, viewers will be able to hold the Blu-ray and DVD packaging in front of a webcam to bring characters from the specific film to life on the computer screen.
Total Immersion has also gone forward with its first campaign in the music industry for for Universal Music TV/All Around The World artists N-Dubz, where fans can trigger an AR music performance when displaying the album artwork in front of a webcam.
