Entertainment industry veteran Brenda Wooding has launched Kid Glove, a new L.A.-based producer and distributor of children’s IP.
Wooding will launch Kid Glove internationally at MIPCOM 2012 as its founder and president, and will present its first project, the animated comedy Viking Kong from the Ministry of Animation.
Kid Glove is split into three divisions:
1) Kid Glove Creative focuses on development and pre-production financing, and is developing programming previously handled under the B Wooding banner (Wooding was the founder of the L.A.-based distributor B Wooding Media).
2) Kid Glove Distribution handles catalog distribution including the entire B Wooding catalog.
3) Kid Glove Consulting provides consulting services to original IP owners.
At Kid Glove, Wooding will draw from her more than 20 years of consulting experience where she worked with prodcos including Starz Animation (9, Gnomeo and Juliet), Film Roman (The Simpsons) in L.A. and Penguin TV (Peter Rabbit and Friends and Spot) in the UK.
Wooding also handled iconic kids properties Transformers, GI Joe, and My Little Pony during a stint as director of international sales at Sunbow Entertainment.
Also joining the Kid Glove team is lead creative consultant Heather Kenyon. The veteran production and development exec previously served as senior director of development, original series at Cartoon Network (Chowder, Camp Lazlo, Flapjack), and is the former VP of project development and sales for Starz Animation.
Kid Glove’s Viking Kong targets kids ages six to 11 and follows the adventures of a group of lovable but dim Vikings who unwittingly end up in California after setting sail for China.
