French/US entertainment co. Moonscoop’s animated comedy/action series Hero: 108 takes to Cartoon Network US and UK airwaves this month, airing weekdays at 7 a.m. in the US and 4 p.m. in the UK.

The 52 x 11-minute series will also benefit from a MMOG developed by RedGate Games, a subsidiary of Taipei, Taiwan-based Gamania Digital Entertainment, one of the largest publishers of online multi-player games in Asia.

Hero: 108 stems from creators in Asia, Europe and Hollywood, led by Gamania, Moonscoop and Cartoon Network International. Also involved in the co-production is Telegael Teo of Ireland.

The show follows the adventures of a group of brave young defenders determined to end a conflict between animals and humans in The Hidden Kingdom. The group, known as First Squad, includes Lin Chung, Mighty Ray, Mystique Sonia, Mr. NoHands and Jumpy Ghostface. The series features Asian-influenced character designs created by show creator Phoenix Tarng, who is also part of Gamania’s in-house creative development team.

Playmates Toys holds the master toy license for Hero: 108 and has worldwide launch plans for 2010.
