Cartoon Network fires up DreamWorks Dragons

DreamWorks Dragons: Riders of Berk, the new weekly animated television series based on the hit feature film How To Train Your Dragon, is set to make its Cartoon Network debut on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

DreamWorks Dragons: Riders of Berk, the new weekly animated television series based on the hit feature film How To Train Your Dragon, is set to make its Cartoon Network debut on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

The DreamWorks Animation-produced series, which continues the adventures of Hiccup, his dragon Toothless, and his Viking friends, marks the third TV production from DreamWorks Animation and its first for Cartoon Network.

Featuring an all-star voice cast that includes Jay Baruchel (Hiccup), America Ferrera (Astrid), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Fishlegs) and the one and only Mark Hamill (Alvin the Treacherous), DreamWorks Dragons: Riders of Berk is co-executive produced by Sandra Rabins with Art Brown and Douglas Sloan as show runners.

The Academy Award-nominated How To Train Your Dragon which debuted in 2010 went on to gross approximately US$500 million at the worldwide box office and its sequel is expected to be released in theaters on June 20, 2014.
