To celebrate Earth Month, Toys ‘R’ Us-owned specialty retailer FAO Schwarz has partnered with new eco-friendly product line, Greenzys.
Greenzys’ goods will be featured exclusively at FAO Schwarz Fifth Avenue store and online at www.FAO.com. The line, which promotes green living and teaches eco-friendly practices to young children, includes books authored by Danielle Mentzer and plush toys by Kids Preferred.
Environmentally friendly characters include Peat the Penguin, who supports recycling, and Yew Yew the Panda, who grows bamboo to create more oxygen. The toys are made in socially responsible factories from soy fibers and non-toxic dyes, and a portion of every purchase will benefit the non-profit Environmental Media Association (www.ema-online.org).
Greenzys is the creation of product designer Lisa Keyser and Mark Lieber, and is currently in development for all media platforms, including publishing, interactive and mobile entertainment. All digital formats are being created in collaboration with Creative Capers animation studio and Curious Light web studio. A preschool television series based on the Greenzys stories is also in development.
