Classic Media has tapped licensing agents CPLG and Kidz Entertainment to develop and represent two of its preschool brands across Western and Eastern Europe.

CPLG will handle Western European licensing and merchandising for Tinga Tinga Tales, which made its UK broadcast debut on CBeebies in February 2010. The deal with CPLG covers licensing and merch rights for Tinga across France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Swizerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. CPLG will work with pan-regional master toy partner Bandai and global publishing partner Penguin Group.

Meanwhile, Denmark-based Kidz Entertainment expands on its relationship with Classic. In addition to repping Postman Pat, Kidz is taking on L&M duties for Tinga and Pat spin-off Guess with Jess in the Nordic territories and Eastern Europe. Jess, which debuted on CBeebies last November, has pan-regional partners Fisher-Price and Egmont lined up to launch products in the UK this summer.
