In a deal secured by CreaCon’s global licensing agent Plus Licens, Norwegian children’s prodco CreaCon Group has named UK-based FWD Licensing & Branding as the licensing agent in the Middle East for its hit preschool brand City of Friends.

FWD will be tasked with growing the L&M program for City of Friends across all key categories in countries including Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi-Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

The hit series, based on bedtime stories Norway state police officer Carl Christian Hamre created for his young son, currently airs on Al Jazeera in the region which has picked up seasons one and two.

Hamre, who created CreaCon Group, has also grown the company into one of Norway’s biggest indie children’s entertainment prodcos spanning TV, digital, live events and licensing.

The latest deal comes on the heels of CreaCon hiring Linda Vabo as its director of products and licensing who is leading the licensing strategy for City of Friends, which airs in more than 150 territories worldwide.
