Australia-based Bubble Gum Interactive has begun production on a series of short-form cartoons based on its popular Little Space Heroes virtual universe.

The cartoons will delve into the back-story of the Super Hero Cadets including Ace, Professor Q, Gizmo the robot and their initial showdown with Lord Shadowbot and are being developed for mobile, online and traditional broadcast distribution by Bubble Gum.

The company recently tapped Graham Cousens, former creative director for Disney Channel, to executive-produce the series, and noted Nickelodeon writer Robert Greenberg to co-write it.
