International 24/7 infant/toddler-targeted BabyTV has partnered with distributor Universal Sales to launch licensed products in the US throughout 2012 including home video package My First Years Library and additional infant-targeted audio and publishing products.

The deal also features products for retail including the first 10 titles of BabyTV’s DVD, nursery rhyme and lullaby music CDs, books for Easter 2012, a Christmas book and a dedicated website for consumers.

BabyTV, which launched its 24h linear channel on Dish Network in the US in January 2011, is included in Dish Network’s Chinese language package and, through DISHLatino, delivers 100% original programming in Spanish, joining other kids’ offerings in the DISHLatino package, including CBeebies, Discovery in Español and Toon Disney.

In other baby-related news, DIRECTV has announced that BabyFirstTV will be included in all DIRECTV programming packages at no extra charge, on DIRECTV channel 293.

The move will bring BabyFirstTV’s US distribution to 24 million, but DIRECTV customers will need HD Access and HD equipment to view BabyFirstTV.
