  • Toikido has signed its first broadcast deal for Beep Boop (pictured, 52 x seven minutes), selling two seasons of the CG-animated series to Spacetoon. The MENA region broadcaster will air the show next year across its free-to-air, cable, AVOD and SVOD platforms. Aimed at kids ages six to nine, Beep Boop revolves around four cute kawaii-style vending machine prizes living in Tokyo’s Electric Quarter.
  • UK-based Narrative Entertainment has signed a deal to bring its POP kids channel onto FAST platform Samsung TV Plus in Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines—where it will air popular shows like Totally Spies! and The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That!

  • WildBrain CPLG has come on board to spearhead a licensing program for the all-ages Fuzzballs pop culture brand, which originated as an online comic. Categories like plush, stationery, apparel and collectibles are on the table, and the licensing agency will initially focus on major markets such as the US, the UK and China.

  • Two of ZDF Studios’ kids shows are boarding Germany’s national railway Deutsche Bahn. Starting September 1, Bernd the Bread (52 x one minute) and Kikaninchen (147 x one to three minutes) will be available for viewing on the train’s ICE entertainment portal. Bernd is about a grumpy loaf of bread who ends up in annoying situations, like being part of a sandwich, while Kikaninchen is an educational series for preschoolers. Deutsche Bahn transports more than two billion passengers every year.

  • Fathom Entertainment has locked down US theatrical distribution rights to Grow, a live-action family feature produced by Double Nickel Entertainment. The UK-based film is about a young girl and her aunt who compete in a pumpkin-growing contest. To coincide with Halloween, Fathom is staging an October 3 domestic release.
