- Fruit Ninja creator Halfbrick Studios has inked a new deal with Mattel to bring Masters of the Universe into its platforming mobile game JetPack Joyride for a month-long crossover event. The MOTU-branded event will kick off on July 30, when players can start collecting jetpacks inspired by the IP’s iconic characters and exploring new levels featuring Castle Grayskull and the Hall of Wisdom.
- Valhalla Entertainment has acquired the feature film rights to Yuletide, George Northy and Rachele Aragno’s upcoming Christmas-themed horror comic series for tweens, from Oni Press. Set to launch at US specialty retail outlets in October, the comic’s first issue sees three teenagers team up to deactivate an ancient relic that they accidentally used to set loose legions of mythical creatures upon their town.
- Children’s music group Kidz Bop has expanded its licensing agreement with Gamefam to launch a new experience in the developer’s Car Dealership Tycoon Roblox game tomorrow. The launch is tied to the release earlier this week of a new Kidz Bop 51 album, which players can listen to while racing in custom courses and collecting music notes around the game’s world. The first Kidz Bop activation in Gamefam’s Really Easy Obby game has been played more than 16.8 million times since launching in January.
- Bahamian-made live-action series Goombay Kids (32 x 26 minutes) is expanding its global reach with two new broadcast deals in place with streamers Hoopla and Samsung TV Plus. Additional platforms already running the show include Roku, Kanopy, Happy Kids, AppleTV and Amazon Fire TV.
