DEALS: Care Bears and Sesame Street team up for the first time

Plus, Banijay sells kids content packages to four public broadcasters, and Sky picks up ZDF’s Sam and Julia to air and stream in the UK.

  • The Care Bears are heading to Sesame Street for a co-branded consumer products range featuring both iconic brands in multiple categories. Cloudco and Sesame Workshop have signed more than a dozen licensing partners for the collection, including Posh Peanut (apparel and accessories), PUMA (footwear), Typo (homeware and gifting), Centric (sleepwear), Franco Manufacturing (blankets) and Loungefly (bags and accessories). Products are launching worldwide starting this summer and continuing well into 2026. 

 

  • Banijay Kids & Family has signed a wave of distribution deals with four public broadcasters. ABC Australia has acquired animated series Moominvalley (season four) and Piripenguins (season one), as well as renewing its rights for Junior Vets (seasons one to four). Czech Television picked up Mister Maker Comes to Town (seasons four and five), Moominvalley (season four) and When I Was Your Age (season one). Denmark’s DR has licensed Hushabye Lullabye (seasons one and two) and the new seventh season of Totally Spies! And BBC Studios Africa (CBeebies) added Mister Maker seasons two and three and Mister Maker Comes to Town season four to its lineup. 

 

  • ZDF Studios has sold Cielo Films/Superswiss Red’s preschool co-production Sam and Julia (78 x seven minutes) into the UK. Sky will debut the stop-motion/CG-animated series about two mice besties living together in a large mansion on Sky Kids and its NOW streamer later this year. Based on a same-name book series that has sold more than a million copies worldwide, Sam and Julia is now available in 100 countries. It also involves France Télévisions, French studio Caribara and Germany’s M.A.R.K.13. 

 

  • Ravensburger has tapped Bliss Distribution to help sell its Disney Lorcana collectible card game in the UK. Featuring characters from many Disney kids series and films, the Lorcana brand launched in 2023, and Ravensburger says it has already sold more than a billion cards. Bliss also distributes TCGs including Dragon Ball and Pokémon.
