Thunderbird Entertainment is bolstering the executive leadership team of its Atomic Cartoons subsidiary by promoting Joel Bradley to serve as the Vancouver-based animation studio’s president, effective July 1.

In his new role, Bradley will spearhead business development, hunt for technologies to further improve Atomic’s animation pipeline, and oversee close to 1,000 production staffers. As president, he will report to Thunderbird and Atomic CEO Jennifer Twiner McCarron, who also serves as the company’s chair on the Board of Directors.

Twiner McCarron said in a statement that now is the right time to elevate Bradley because he has been instrumental in helping to grow Atomic’s kids & family business, while also building a supportive people-first work culture at the company.

Bradley has worked at Atomic for 11 years, starting out as production coordinator in 2014 and then working his way up the ladder to eventually head up production for the studio in 2020. He is credited on productions including the 2D-animated adventure series Hilda (2018) and The Last Kids on Earth (2015).

In addition to Twiner McCarron and Bradley, Atomic’s leadership suite also includes president of global distribution and consumer products Richard Goldsmith, head of 2D animation Carl Upsdell, studio creative director Nadine Westerbarkey and dual VPs of Atomic originals Aaron Behl and Kristin Cummings.
