Mediawan has brought in two high-level leaders while it executes a distribution team rejig tied to its acquisition of Germany’s Leonine Studios last year.

Joining the French conglomerate as head of global partnerships and new business for Mediawan Kids & Family is Marie Lassal (pictured left), who’ll work closely with the division’s animation studios to finance series and run its commercial teams. Lassal most recently spent seven years as head of sales at Paris-based Kids First Distribution, but she has also worked at France tv distribution (2014 to 2015) and Mediatoon (2011 to 2014).

Benjamin Lepetit (pictured right) joins as head of acquisitions at Mediawan Rights, which has now absorbed Leonine’s global TV sales business. He will oversee content acquisition strategy, as well as strengthening the company’s international footprint through pre-sales and co-pros. Lepetit is coming off a seven-year stint as a senior acquisitions executive at Federation Studios, and he previously served as head of TV distribution at Gaumont.

Under its new operational structure for distribution, Mediawan has noted that Germany, Austria and Switzerland will now be overseen by Leonine sales execs Christiane Goldberg (SVP of license sales), Marc Arndt (VP of digital distribution and marketing) and Steve Blank (senior license sales manager).

A number of executives have recently exited Mediawan’s sales teams, according to Broadcast International—including Mediawan Kids & Family SVP of global distribution and consumer products Eric RouillĂ© and Leonine Studios director of world sales Patrick Phelan.
