- BBC Studios and RTE have renewed 2D-animated preschool series Puffin Rock—a co-pro from Cartoon Saloon and Dog Ears—for a third season (21 x seven minutes) that will premiere in September on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer in the UK and in Ireland on RTEjr and RTE Player.
- Goliath Games will now serve as the global manufacturer and distributor of Hasbro’s 55-year-old Mastermind board game. Under a new multi-year agreement, Goliath plans to create a new marketing campaign to introduce a younger generation of players to the puzzle game and reinvigorate the brand with new editions.
- Neon has picked up North American distribution rights to a 2D-animated French feature film called Arco from Paris-based studio Remembers and Natalie Portman’s MountainA production banner. Neon has a famous sixth sense for getting behind Oscar-worthy films, winning Best Picture earlier this year for Anora and getting nominations for Robot Dreams and Flee, two animated features in its catalogue.
- Taiwan PTS has commissioned a new 2D-animated series called Takokuma’s Adventure Story from Japanese toyco Takokuma. The toon will see the company’s namesake octopus/bear mascot go on tropical island adventures with his best friends Rabbit Captain 22, Brother Racoon and a sleeping hedgehog named Hari Hari. Scriptwriter Dennis Alme De Visscher confirmed on LinkedIn that the series is in development with a production budget of US$1 million.
