Hasbro is enhancing the gameplay of its NERF dart blasters by teaming up with Montreal-based toyco Wilder to deliver a new range of video game-inspired products for the at-home playroom later this year.
Wilder’s NERF Battle Play Experiences collection of targets and accessories is on track to start rolling out to major retailers worldwide in July. The range will be led by four initial SKUs: a 360 Battlezone to test reflex speed, a Strike ‘N’ Score challenge for head-to-head point battles, and two playsets—Zombie Spin Strike and Bot Arena Clash—featuring four different game modes for multiple players.
Besides these core products, Wilder is also planning to release tactical glasses and wearable vests for competitive play later this year. Company CEO Casey Karls says these new NERF products are meant to invoke the fun of building battlefields and forts at home, while integrating tech and surround-sound elements to make the games feel more immersive for kids.
Ahead of launch, Hasbro and Wilder will also team up on a digital marketing campaign featuring social media content creators and influencers using their favorite NERF blasters in creative ways to score viral trick shots.
