Deals in Brief – April 22, 2025

Youku has inked a streaming and merch deal for Mechamoto in China, and Hasbro and the NFL are teaming up for a line of football helmet Transformers.

  • Youku has picked up Malaysian studio Monsta’s CG-animated sci-fi adventure series Mechamoto (26 x 22 minutes) to stream in China, and it will also manage a regional consumer products program. Cartoon Network Asia premiered Mechamoto back in 2021. 

 

  • Hasbro and the NFL have teamed up to launch a line of Transformers x NFL action figures that morph into football helmets. The first wave of products will include Dallas Cowboys Starblitz, Pittsburgh Steelers Steelsmash (pictured), Green Bay Packers Tundra Prime and Kansas City Chiefs KC-59. Pre-orders started today on Hasbro’s Amazon store, and a retail launch is set for December 15.  

 

  • Solent Group has renewed its license with Studiocanal Kids & Family to produce and distribute Paddington-branded reusable bags to major grocery chains in the UK and Ireland for two more years. The companies have worked together since 2022.
