- Kartoon Studios has tapped veteran screenwriter Linda Woolverton (pictured) to be an executive producer on its upcoming CG-animated series Hundred Acre Wood’s Winnie and Friends. Woolverton has worked on several high-profile Disney films throughout her career, including writing 1991’s Beauty and the Beast and creating the screenplays for the live-action adaptations of Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Maleficent (2014).
- Macy’s has hired former Bloomingdale’s merchant Daniel Leppo as its new SVP and general merchandising manager for men’s and kids. Leppo succeeds Sam Archibald in the role and will report to the company’s chief merchant, Nata Dvir. This hire comes as the US retailer prepares to shutter 150 stores within three years, and Leppo will play a key role in leveraging his experience in fashion and vendor partnerships to reposition the retailer for renewed growth.
