The Beeb is bringing together a powerhouse preschool brand and a well-known British reality TV format for a good cause.
Ludo Studio has created a special animated Bluey performance that takes place in the famous ballroom of competition series Strictly Come Dancing. The segment sees the Blue Heeler pup burning up the dancefloor alongside professionals including Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones, Gorka Marquez, Johannes Radebe and Michelle Tsiakkas.
Bluey’s routine—set to the tune of Chris Kenner’s 1960s classic “Land of a Thousand Dances“—incorporates dance moves such as “The Mashed Potato” and “The Floss” that should be easy for young viewers to follow along with at home.
The goal of the partnership is to help raise money for charity during the BBC Children in Need telethon, which will air on BBC One and iPlayer on November 15. (Strictly: It Takes Two will also share a sneak-peek and a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Bluey’s routine the day before on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.)
BBC Children in Need has also set up a Bluey’s Dance Mode Challenge page where families can help raise money through their team’s “digital piggy bank” and share their best moves on social media.
