L.A.-based MarVista Entertainment’s second TV movie for Disney Channel, Radio Rebel, is slated to premiere on Disney Channel US and YTV in Canada in early 2012, and then roll out across Disney Channels around the world.

Principal photography for the movie has just wrapped in Vancouver where MarVista is working with co-production partner Two 4 the Money Media to produce the film.

Radio Rebel is based on YA novel Shrinking Violet and stars Debby Ryan (Jessie, Suite Life on Deck, 16 Wishes) as Tara Adams, a seemingly ordinary high school junior, except for her secret alter ego, the most popular radio DJ in Seattle. Sarena Parmar (Degrassi), Adam DiMarco (Kiss at Pine Lake, Do Something With Your Life), Atticus Mitchell (My Babysitter’s A Vampire) and Merritt Patterson (Kyle XY) also star.

Radio Rebel is the second movie produced by MarVista for Disney Channel. The first, 16 Wishes, debuted on Disney Channel US last summer and earned the distinction of being the most-watched cable telecast (number one in cable total viewers, kids six to 11 and tweens nine to 14) the night it premiered to over 5.6 million viewers.
