pocket.watch scores placement on Fubo

EXCLUSIVE: Ryan and Friends is one of two channels joining the Fubo live-TV streaming service, adding kid-friendly appeal to the sports-focused platform.
March 29, 2023

In a surprise pairing, kid-focused content company pocket.watch has linked up with sports-focused live TV streamer Fubo in a FAST channel deal.

The agreement will see Fubo feature two of pocket.watch’s branded channels–pocket.watch’s eponymous channel and Ryan and Friends–on Fubo’s lineup by the end of the year, which in the US also includes major networks and sports channels. Fubo bills itself as “the world’s only sports-focused live TV streaming service…plus popular shows, movies and news for the entire household.”

Creators featured on the pocket.watch channel include Mackenzie Turner (games), HobbyKids (pretend play) and Onyx Family (comedy sketches). Meanwhile, on Ryan and Friends, videos from Ryan’s content universe will be featured, as well as the shows Kids Diana Show Ultimate Mishmash (15 x 22 minutes), Jason Vlogs and The Do Crew (24 x 11 minutes) and The Stella Show (84 x five minutes).

The deal gives pocket.watch the opportunity for significant new reach for its IPs, with Fubo’s subscriber count reaching 1.4 million in North America by the end of 2022, according to Variety

On Fubo’s side, widely popular IPs like Ryan and Friends allow it to flex the “entire household” appeal on which many SVODs rely to secure whole-family subscribers. The company recently rebranded to Fubo from FuboTV, and has a new national ad campaign in market headed up by Ryan Reynolds’ agency Maximum Effort.

Pocket.watch has its channels available across 10 different services, which have collectively reached four billion minutes watched over three years, according to the company.
