Former FOX Entertainment head of drama and programming Charlie Andrews has joined Disney Branded Television as EVP of live-action and alternative series.

Starting today, Andrews will oversee all live-action programming, scripted and unscripted series and movies that DBTV produces for Disney+ and Disney Channel. He reports to Ayo Davis, who previously held this role before she was promoted to president of DBTV  in September.

Andrews will also look after original development, current programming, original movies and unscripted content. In his previous position, he served as FOX’s network executive on the award-winning series Empire and also developed 911 and Lucifer.

Disney Branded Television is currently working on live-action TV projects including comedy series Meet the Mayhems and The Spiderwick Chronicles. And small-screen premieres for live-action original movies such as Sneakerella, ZOMBIES 3 and Percy Jackson and the Olympians are also being planned.
