Simon & Schuster’s Children’s division has tapped former HarperCollins exec Zareen Jaffery to head up its US Book for Young Readers imprint as executive editor.
In her three years at HarperCollins, Jaffery was the editor of titles including books by Lauren Conrad, Jodi-Lynn Anderson, LJ Smith and Claudia Gray. She was also responsible for the Vampire Diaries series. Prior to her time at HarperCollins, she was an editor in the adult group at Hyperion. Julia Maguire will be backing up Jaffery on her list.
