London-based distributor Jetpack is expanding the global footprint of Beano Studio’s animated series Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed! in new deals with broadcasters, including NBCUniversal International Network and Germany’s Super RTL.

The rights to seasons one and two of the 52 x 11-minute series have been scooped up by NBCUniversal International Network for its 24-hour DreamWorks channel in a number of Asia Pacific territories, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Myanmar and the Maldives.

Four additional deals will further the series’ growth across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Germany’s Super RTL and Ireland’s RTÉ have both taken the rights to season two, which is currently in production. Super RTL’s deal encompasses Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Elsewhere, Lagardere’s pay-TV channel Canal J—which was recently acquired by M6—and free-to-air channel e.tv have both snapped up season one for France and South Africa, respectively.

Aimed at six- to 11-year-olds, Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed! tracks the mischievous lives of Dennis, his faithful dog sidekick and their group of friends.

Since its UK launch on CBBC in 2017, the series has been sold in more than 90 territories to broadcasters including Netflix (US, UK, Australia and New Zealand), Rai (Italy), France Télévisions, ABC (Australia), SIC (Portugal), YLE (Finland), Emirates Cable (United Arab Emirates), VTMKIDS (Belgium), TV Derana (Sri Lanka), TVNZ (New Zealand), ClanTVE (Spain) and SVT Barn (Sweden). CBBC is set to premiere season two this summer.

Jetpack’s sales come on the heels of some US exposure for the Dennis & Gnasher brand after kids 3D-printing company Toybox Labs recently signed a licensing agreement with Beano to add characters from Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed! to its available lineup of characters.
