The Challenge

‘The challenge is to solidify Sony Pictures Entertainment, in both television and film, as a major player in the consumer products area. . . . Our new animation studio and kids television areas are growing at Sony, so I think I’m coming in at a good time. My primary responsibility is to keep on trucking in that area and make sure that we have strong marketing programs that support these areas from a licensing standpoint . . . because licensees and retailers are a whole lot more sophisticated these days. They are looking for marketing muscle.’
