Kids around the world are getting a glimpse at an explorer’s life as they monitor the journey of six cyclists traveling through Mexico, Belize and Guatemala in search of clues about lost Maya cities. The team’s travels are recorded on the MayaQuest Web site (www.mecc.com/mayaquest.html), developed by MayaQuest sponsor The Learning Company. As well as tracking the explorers on-line, kids can vote on the team’s route, ask questions, check out photos and learn about the lives of children whom the crew meet along the way. The third annual event kicked off March 3 and wraps up April 11. Apple Computer and Infonautics, creator of the Electric Library and Homework Helper services, are among the other sponsors.
