Cottonwood dances into Find Me in Paris licensing

Beacon Rock Growth signs on as the show's first North American licensing agent, with plans to launch new products next year.
September 9, 2019

Paris-based prodco Cottonwood Media has signed LA marketing firm Beacon Rock Growth as the first North American licensing agent for its live-action series Find Me in Paris. Working alongside Cottonwood, Beacon Rock will develop licensed products and merchandise for the market.

The companies plan to launch fashion, accessories, publishing, home and decor, stationery and audio electronic products in the second half of 2020, according to a spokesperson for Cottonwood. The roll-out will be managed by Beacon Rock Growth’s founder Johanna Mooney, the former director of franchise and marketing for Disney consumer products.

Co-produced by ZDF, Be-Films and the National Opera of Paris, Find Me in Paris tells the story of a time-traveling ballet dancer from Russia in the year 1905 who becomes trapped in modern day Paris. The series has been sold to 130 countries on broadcasters, including Hulu (US), CBC (Canada), Rai (Italy), Québecor (French-speaking Canada), HBO (Portugal) SVOD service Showmax (South Africa), and Hot TV (Israel).

Cottonwood has been steadily growing the tween-skewing IP’s global licensing and merchandising efforts since the show’s launch in 2018. This past May, Cottonwood appointed Retail Monster as the exclusive UK licensing agent for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Prior to that, Barcelona-based kidsnet Planeta Junior partnered with Federation Kids & Family to manage the show’s licensing rights in Italy. Cottonwood also expanded the series with a big merchandising push in France last November.
