TFO CEO resigns, leaves behind an ‘innovative organization’

Glenn O'Farrell will leave his post in August, and the Canadian media company is on the hunt for a new leader.

Toronto, Canada-based Groupe Média TFO president and CEO Glenn O’Farrell has resigned after nearly nine years in the role.

He will leave his position on August 16, and heads to a new industry entirely: insurance.

The French-language broadcaster made strides in the digital space during O’Farrell’s tenure, including the launch of its Virtual World Laboratoryor, alternatively, LUV Studioin 2016. The lab uses gaming technology to create virtual sets, which TFO has used for its educational programming, as well as serviced to third-party production companies. TFO also launched IDÉLLO, a resource platform for Francophone educators, students and parents.

“Thanks to Glenn’s leadership, Groupe Média TFO is equipped to meet the challenges of the future with confidence,” said Carole Beaulieu, president of the board of directors, in a statement. “Glenn leaves behind an innovative and ambitious organization. We are grateful to him for his important contribution to the French-language media landscape in Canada and wish him all the success in his new professional role.”

The board will now seek an interim president to serve in the role until a permanent replacement can be found.
