Andrew Carley has stepped down from his role as EVP of global licensing for Entertainment One after 12 years with the company, eOne confirmed to Kidscreen. Carley was based at the company’s London office and helped to build the Peppa Pig brand into the behemoth property it is today. eOne has not yet announced who will take over his role, or where Carley is headed.

During Carley’s tenure, eOne’s family and brands business grew significantly due to the success of preschool properties Peppa Pig and PJ Masks. The first half of fiscal 2018 saw the family and brands arm grow 29% to US$97.5 million. Revenue for Peppa increased 18% during that period, while PJ Masks grew by 44%.

By the end of fiscal 2019, the company expects to have nearly 1,900 live licensing and merchandising contracts. China is a particular area of focus, with Alpha Group being appointed master toy partner for Peppa Pig in the region and plans to co-produce a feature film based on the preschool property with Chinese distributor Alibaba Pictures. Additionally, eOne bolstered its family and brands arm in the region by appointing former Pearl Studio GM Pengchong Xu as VP of licensing and tapping ex-Mattel marketing head Frida Zhang as VP of marketing.

Before joining the team he served as director of sales at DHX’s licensing agency CPLG for nearly a decade.
