Elie Dekel took a step up at Fox Family Worldwide last month, leaving his former post of executive VP of marketing and advertising to helm the studio’s newly created Consumer Products division. Dekel’s new title is executive VP, consumer products , Fox Family Worldwide. The division will consolidate three former departments at Saban (licensing and merchandising, marketing and promotions and publicity) under one umbrella.

As a result of the reorganization, Suzanne Lee, former senior VP of licensing and merchandising at Saban, tendered her resignation.

According to Dekel, the consolidation was a logical next step in the evolution of Saban and Fox’s relationship. ‘As we have merged with Fox, we have integrated those businesses together and consolidated numerous departments.’ The establishment of a consumer products division will bring no major changes beyond a refocus of existing divisions, and the implementation of a stronger marketing emphasis across the board, says Dekel. As for Lee’s departure, Dekel noted that ‘she built a team and a department,’ but chose not to remain after the restructuring.
