Nancy Tellem has been named the entertainment president at CBS. The promotion means she is the second female, after Jamie Tarses at ABC, to hold such a post.

In her new position, Tellum will oversee CBS productions, as well as the entertainment division’s business affairs. She will also head up daytime, Saturday morning, primetime and late night programming.

Tellum will be sharing responsibilities with CBS CEO Leslie Moonves, although she is expected to focus more on day-to-day responsibilities.

Tellum previously worked with Moonves when he headed up Warner Bros. Television. She eventually became executive VP, and then moved to CBS where she headed up that network’s business affairs.
