Golden Books Family Entertainment has inked an agreement with London, England-based animation house Varga Ltd. to adapt three of its preschool publishing properties, Poky the Little Puppy, Saggy Baggy Elephant and Scuffy the Tugboat , for home video. All three titles will be a half-hour in length and will feature six five-minute episodes of each of the characters. Golden Books will be releasing the videos in North America in the spring of 1999, along with seven new books and licensed apparel and toys based on the three characters. Currently, GBHE is pitching the content for the three videos as interstitial programming to a number of specialty kids channels in the U.S.
