UK kid pubcaster CBBC has ordered a third season of interactive series Secret Life Of Boys (pictured) from Zodiak Kids Studios, as well as commissioning a trio of Millie Inbetween specials from the Banijay-owned prodco.
The Secret Life Of Boys order consists of 10 half-hour episodes and three half-hour specials for linear broadcast on CBBC and Australian children’s channel ABC ME. Additionally, 50 x five-minute interactive episodes will be delivered online.
Season three of the live-action drama continues the story of Ginger, a 12-year-old Aussie girl living with her male cousins in the UK. Secret Life Of Boys was recently nominated for a 2018 International Kids Emmy in the digital category, and was first commissioned in 2015 by CBBC and ABC3 as a cross-platform series produced by The Foundation in the UK.
As for Millie Inbetween, CBBC has ordered three new half-hour specials that pick up from the ending of the hit comedy-drama’s fourth season with a story arc about Millie trying to convince her divorced Dad to return to the UK from Spain.
Paris-based Zodiak Kids owns global distribution rights to both series.
The commissions follow the September hiring of former Moonscoop co-founder Benoit di Sabatino as CEO of Zodiak Kids. Sabatino took the reins from Jean-Philippe Randisi, who served in the position for four years.
